This drawing compares an 1839 map of the Camp Coldwater community to the area in 1998-1999 when the planned reroute of Highway 55 drew together a coalition of Native Americans, neighborhood residents, and you ecoanarchists. For a year and a half, protesters banded together to stop the highway expansion to save their homes, the environment and sacred sites.
