Como Park – 2022 – 20 x 30 – ink

The 1884 plat map of the area around Como Lake is compared with the 1916 plat maps and current property tax maps to illustrate the changes in the lake’s shore line and the development of the park. Featured prominently is Frederick Nussbaumer, German immigrant, botanist, and second Park Superintendent, who played a key role in the development of the park during his 30 year tenure.
